WWII was the beginning of women attaining equal rights. The men were at war and Rosie became a riveter while Ronald was in England or Germany. Women took over much of what men handled before the war. Even the present Queen of England learned to drive and service military vehicles.

When Ronald came home, he expected Rosie to put on her apron, lower her head in submission and go home. Rosie had tasted freedom and was not about to give it up. Ronald was not happy. Peace overseas did not bring peace at home.

Women have fought for equal rights for over a century. Now is the time to change tactics. Now is the time to stop fighting and expend effort in acquiring the knowledge, gaining the skills, cultivating the contacts and doing that which you were born to do whether it be an astronaut, bank president, mother, or highway engineer. Time is wasting, take off your lady gloves, join hands with your sisters and take on the world with your strong woman hands.

The 'freedom' that women experience today can sometimes feel a bit like enslavement. We have to fill the same roles as our grandmothers (house wife and mother) while filling the same roles as our grandfathers (working away from home). Women rush around from the moment they roll out of bed before day break until they collapse into bed at night. Women today are so busy living their lives they have no time to research about how to better their lives.

I will share what I have learned over many decades as a wife, mother, employee and business owner as well as what I have learned from other women. Perhaps some of you would like to share your experiences. Information can be a game changer, even a life saver. To paraphrase a favorite quote of mine, “Life is a banquet of information and most poor suckers are starving for facts.” The original quote, of course, is from Auntie Mame who said, “Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death”.

This website is to encourage women to get involved in running this great country. This county, in fact, the entire world at this point, is a man's world, run by man standards and expectations. Men have been hunters and warriors until very recently. Hunters and warriors are not known for their compassion and understanding of other people's needs. There is too much concentrated power in today's world for that kind of mentality to end anyway except as a global disaster. If we do not contribute a woman's influence in the running of our country and the world, there is no chance for a happy ever after ending.

Start with our male dominated politics. Learn what is really going on in your local, state and national government. Find out how much money your representatives are 'gifted' and by what special interests or businesses. Find out how they vote after receiving these 'gifts'. Share your knowledge. Register to vote and then vote. Vote for the best candidate, not because the candidate is male or female.

We think of ourselves as a democracy, with government officials doing what we ask them to do. In fact, we are not a democracy. We are a republic (I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.)

We vote for people that we believe think as we do and then give them the power to do whatever they think is right. And that is why our politicians are getting away with doing what ever benefits them. It is time politicians answer for their actions. Maybe it is time to change a few laws and put the power into the hands of the citizens. Maybe it is time for a true democracy.

And it is time for the other half of humanity - women - to take off their lady gloves and find a place in politics and business and in every facet of life. Men have had their chance and I don't know about you, but I am not happy.
